It's Been a Minute
You know, it really has been a minute. Part of me even forgot I had this website and blog. It's funny how things change shape, find different iterations, and evolve. I am still working part time at the Family Crisis Center. I have a year under my belt and I am still learning daily from the men I work with in our Abuse Intervention Program. I have been able to stretch my coaching skills and learn more about the Domestic Violence Movement.

In early July I was invited to speak at a dental hygienist continuing education seminar. I was one of two speakers and the morning was focused on self-care for the clinician as well as tools hygienists can use with their patients. It was truly a bucket list engagement. It was one of those wishes that you don't even speak out loud because you don't want to jinx it. I hate the word 'manifest,' but that's basically what I was too afraid to do. I only told three people and kept it from friends until it was over. The event itself went really well. I felt at ease and confident. I even gave everyone a rock! Officially, it was a "calming stone" but if you know me, rocks are in every part of my life. I think the ease and confidence I felt affirmed for me that Sandstone Paths is where my heart is.

So I'm leaning into that heart space. I'm actively pursuing ideas on how to expand the work I do within Sandstone Paths. I'm renewing my focus on my own Reiki practice, and I recently received my Reiki Master attunement. I'm also returning to my meditation practice, all while gaining valuable coaching experience at Family Crisis Center.
I will write about my experience with those things on my Substack: Goosing Butterflies. Keep an eye out for that. When I publish it, I'll put a link at the bottom of this blog. As always, I would appreciate a like, comment, or sub there and on this website.
With all of that being said, things are moving in the expansion and ideas area of my coaching and speaking. I don't want to say too much yet (there's that jinx thing again), but I am working on a possible new gig that will happen in the new year. I don't think this website and blog will go away, but its focus might change a little.
As I was looking over the past blogs and Substack posts, I couldn't help but think, "Wow, I thought I was so smart." It was a little embarrassing, but I wouldn't let myself take anything down or edit existing posts. I think it is important for me to see my own growth. I even have a problem with the word 'growth.' Maybe 'timeline' is better. There are so many buzzwords and trendy concepts in coaching and spiritual spaces. I can see how I fell into wanting to fit inside those trends. I want to move my focus away from writing for engagement to writing what is real for me. I almost can't wait until next year when I look back on this and future posts, and get embarrassed all over again.
The shape of this space keeps changing. I'm planning to show up here now and then to keep track of it, and I'm glad you're here to watch it happen with me.
